Puddle of Mudd announced that their new album, Kiss the Machine, is set to arrive on May 2, and have shared the project’s lead single, “Beautimous.” The announcement comes despite the ongoing legal issues facing frontman Wes Scantlin, including a pending felony domestic violence charge following a recent physical altercation with his girlfriend. “This album was a moment of clarity – me looking in the mirror,” said Scantlin in a press release. “I was there night after night in the studio, learning, recording, pushing myself, and making sure every part of it felt authentic. I’m super proud of how it all came together.” Scantlin has had a series of legal problems over the years, including a run in with a SWAT team in 2024 while resisting arrest over an outstanding warrant, and an arrest for trespassing in 2023. Scantlin also gave a disastrous performance at a charity gig at Daytona Bike Week in March, which he claims was a result of being roofied by a former bandmate. (Consequence of Sound)
