During a recent appearance on the Lipps Service With Scott Lipps podcast, Slayer guitarist Kerry King opened up about his long standing love/hate relationship with Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine. King’s friendship with Mustaine dates back to his brief time playing shows with Megadeth back in 1985 when Slayer’s future was briefly in doubt. “Mustaine’s cool, but Mustaine’s one of those guys that he can’t help but stick his foot in his mouth,” King shared. “So, I’ll take my 20 minutes and I’ll bolt just before anything gets uncomfortable.” During an interview with Metal Hammer last year, King reflected on his short time in Megadeth and how things would have changed if he had stuck with the metal band. “I think if myself and Dave Mustaine could have coexisted for four years, it would have been a very different band,” King said. “I’m not saying I’d have made them better – I’d have made them different.” (Louder Sound)
